Sustainability

At Maylarch, we understand the wider responsibilities and requirements that our clients have to work under, and we are committed to working to the standards set out by the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC), PAS:402 and the Nottingham Declaration on Climate Change.

As a responsible company, we regularly measure and monitor our carbon footprint through the Carbon Trust and we are also a Green Achiever and Green Compass registered organisation.

Maylarch were Finalists at the Oxfordshire Business Awards 2008 in the Sustainability Category and we hold BS EN ISO:14001 accreditation in recognition of our sustainable methods of operating.

We are dutiful in our understanding and supporting our clients in their wider responsibilities.

We fully implement resource efficiency and the recycling and reuse of materials both on site and in our offices.

Maylarch strongly believe that recycling is an essential element towards securing a sustainable environment for all, in the future.

We work with clients and authorities to protect vulnerable habitats and wildlife, close to or within Asbestos Surveying, Asbestos Removal and Demolition projects.

We are fully committed to helping create and develop materials and markets for recycled waste with organisations like WRAP, Envirowise and the Environment Agency

We are constantly recycling soils, aggregates and metals to go back into the supply chain, we also reclaim bricks, slates and wood for reuse, therefore helping to increase resource efficiency.

In the last Financial year 2008-2009, of the 18272 tonnes of waste produced as a result of our business activities, we reused or recycled over 90% if we exclude the 834.75 tonnes of hazardous waste which we have to take to landfill by law, this equates to 94.45%

"We hope that our work with recycling contributes towards a more sustainable future and will help relieve some of the pressure on our natural habitats, improve the wider environment and help protect it for future generations."
